help me pick my first nitro car please :)

well this is my first post .... Hello every1 :)... i had an old electric car that would hit about 30. im now looking to compete with my buddys and their trucks. but id like to be able to go on the street aswell. im thinking buuggy/ truggy is tthe way to go here.my friend has a revo so that is my bench mark. i wanna go faster though hopefully 60-70 and keep it to a $700 price tag if possible. if this means building my new whip im game for that. ive built tons of tuner race cars so i think i can pull it together, mabe with some help from you guys. i like the losi controller features but i hear good things about hpi . im not against electric if thats what i need to do to go that fast forr the budget if i can run as long as a revo.

i was givin an old hpi car thats all beat up so i tihnk im better off starting from scratch then to fix that 1 up. ill get some pics if you guys think its worth it ill do that. i know it needs an engine and a bulk head? and suspension stuff.
any who thanks for the help and if any1 has something to sell me im open to offers :).

im not going to race competitively but id love to romp on my friends on and off the road :)

You can pick up a REVO for well under $700 - check out the range of kits here and post up which one appears to you most - http://www.amainhobbies.com/index.ph...rucks-Car-Kits

if i had to pick id think the second 1 is my favorite but its alittle pricey but that just means i got to save alittle more . im very open to suggestions here .

Well the 1st one is 1/10 scale so will be smaller than the REVO and also have a smaller engine.
The 2nd one has got everything you will probably ever need - starter box, spektrum radio etc. & is one of the best RTR kits out there. Plenty of aftermarket spares availiable and one of the most popular truggy kits.
3rd one is only a kit. Even though it is pictured on there with a engine etc. it still requires engine, starter box, radio etc. Were you wanting a Ready to Run?
4th one is another good choice. Jammin make some really good products & can upgrade the kit along the way.

id be fine buying a car piece by piece if that will give me the best result.

with the 8ight 2.0 t how fast should i be able to go with it after break in? does it have a 2 speed?

as far as size compared to a revo if its smaller by a little i dont mind as long as i can go faster :)

i really like second 1 i listed so far thats my leading choice. what kind of spare parts should i look into getting for it if i get that?

Hi mate.

The sencond one is a RTR, which means it comes with everything ready to go. Most 8th scale off roads will get around 70-100kmph, depending on engine and tuning and gearing ect.

The Losi (the second one) Is a RACE vechile. Made for racing, it can be bashed and driven onroad but i guess you could purchase something a little cheaper if that what you want to do...

Its up to you, The losi is probably one of the best RTRs out there, so i would probably go for that...

P.S If you get a Kit, you will aghve to build the whole thing (which i know you dont mind), but then you will have to purchase (SEPERATELY) a engine, electronics (radio battery), Tires ect ect... I would just for the RTR :)

Cheers

Ohh, and most GOOD 8th scale offroad vechils will only be a 1 speed, not two, a two speed is just more trouble, with more bearings and an extra clutch ect ect..

Hey loneracer05 what ever r/c you get, part of your decision should be avalibility of parts. Nothing will dissapoint you more with a r/c looking at it sitting on a shelf when you can't play with it because nobody around you has parts for it.See shats your Local hobby store carries or what online store close to you carries.

I'm with with S&S racing and TJSRCN on the Associated MGT's. The 4.6 is nice. But Tune in the 8.0 and let me tell you no revo stands a chance.

As far as Truggy Ofna,(Jammin), Associated, Losi, Mugen, all make good truggies so pick, what you might want to do if you get a truggy is swap out the RTR engine(Usually around a .28) for a .21 engine for better run time. And last but not least Have a blast with which ever one you get.

im pretty set now on the team associated mgt 8.0....for afew reasons, price, its faster and badder then a revo , ill be running with monster trucks so ill be more likely to run with them in the same kinda truck. their will be some driving in wooded areas where the super sized tires will help along with the slight higher torque will help climb over obstacles . what parts are the most commonly broken parts on this truck so i can order them ahead of time to try to minimize the down time.a good chunk of the drive time will be upstate ny 30 miles away from the nearest person let alone store lol so id like to keep some extras on hand.
