PRO/Sportsman CLASSES! What the..........

From reading & answering another thread, I think HERE is where is should be posted:

For any & ALL racers out there in RC land, what are YOUR feelings as far as someone who would normally race in PRO class drop down to sportsman in order to WIN a race.

ALSO, How about a NON CLASS event? As in when you register to race, be it buggy, truggy, sct, whatever, you enter in the specific class, & AFTER the 3rd heat before themain, LET THE LAP COUNTING COMPUTER tell who is in the pro and sports classes.

After MUCH discussion, I think a re-rack BEFORE the main would put the pros with the pros, & sportsmen with their own.

Whatta ya think?

If its one class, then the sportsman are just gonna get stomped on anyway with the pro's if this is what your saying. I agree the sports and pros need to be seperate.
There needs to be a rule if you are running a cetain amount of time faster than the average you were in running in the qualifiers, then your auto DNF. This would pretty much force them in the Pro class or else they know they wont win at all.
This could clean out alot of sand baggers...

This is my 2 cents.

Hey Gregg. The pro and sportsman classes are there for a reason. Where you are racing and who you are racing with determines whether you are a pro or sportsman. Big events draw more experienced drivers than club races so the level of competition goes up, sometimes it goes way up. The larger events that I've been to always even the field and bump the drivers that need to be bumped. At smaller club events everyone knows one another and a few friendly comments are all it takes get people in the class they need to be in. As far as the single class goes, it's not very hard to run a couple of slow heats to get placed in a lower class if that's
what a person wants to do. You can't force people to be honorable with rules. At the end of the day everyone just has to go home and live with there choices and how they are viewed by others.

I voted combine !

Everyone knows how I feel about sandbaggin ! and to keep my account from being locked I will refrain from saying it here on the open forum.

I am also a firm believer in Capital Punishment !!!!!!

No one wants to earn anything anymore, everyone wants it handed to them

Can we have a class for those that can't go a lap without wreckin'?

It seems to me this relies on ones honesty to themselves and their peers.

Problem is WHERE is the honesty anymore ?

My solution is going to be this, go ahead and sandbag, cuz eventually I WILL beat you fair and square !

What happened to just "racing for fun"?

I just want the weather to break, help with the track, then hang with some friends. I don't care if I can't win every week. Or any week. We already have rules in place. Every track has their own rules. This isn't NASCAR, F1 or Le Mans with a supreme Sanctioning Body for all tracks, all races. We're close, but this is still a HOBBY for 99% of us.

I've never noticed anyone I've raced with cheat or sandbag. If someone were to try that at the weekly races, don't you think we ALL would notice? Sounds like a lot of (insert favorite initials here) over a couple of racers we'll probably never see again. WTF!

This would probably be of more importance to me if I actually raced to win. Which would require alot more practice on my part(which I really don't have time for). I race to have fun and blow off steam and stress. When I quit havin fun doin it is when you will see my cars on fleabay. Also,I might win if I was the last car on the track but there is still room for debate,LOL!
