On Saturday night after the 1st Race of the AZ RC Pro Series was over Ryan Maifield came over while I was getting ready to go out on the track to practice and drops his Thunder Tiger ST-1 on my table and told me it was mine.
I couldn't stop smiling the whole night, I thought he was joking at first. He gave me it with a pipe and 2 really nice Futaba servos.

DUDE!!!!! Thats so freakin cool! I heard he lent another kid his Nats winning buggy for the AZ series too!
Did you get a setup sheet? If not, you should make one, and post it up here!

Yeah I guess he isn't going to run the TTR stuff anymore, just waiting for the AE proto's to come out. He ran the Jammin' X1CR and I think he ran the Mugen truggy on Saturday.
He hooked me up with his 8th scale wheels from his main too, only one run on them.
I'm still debating on what I want to do with it. Take the servos and use them in my GT2 and sell the ST-1 and use that money for the AE buggy when it comes out, or just keep it all and throw my ol SWK .26 in it and race it and just buy some servos for my GT2 and just save up for the AE buggy.
Kinda leaning towards keeping it though, I think it'll be fun to run truggy but also very pricey!
I'm going to get him to fill out a setup sheet for both my GT2 and ST-1. He's a super cool guy and is more than willing to help anyone.

What kind of servos did it come with? Are they better than your buggy servos? Look into it, cause truck servos are usually pretty stout and would be OVERKILL in a 1/10 truck...but would work killer in a buggy.
If I were you, I wouldnt sell the truck...strictly due to the sentimental value. Even if I was driving a different chassis, I would hang it up on the wall, or put it on the trophy shelf, or something....A friend of mine has a ST-1 PROTOTYPE, it was given to him but he cannot sell it.

Yeah thats another reason that I don't really think I'll sell it. The more I think about it the more I want to race it.
And about the servo's I am pretty sure they are Futaba's best servos. It's in my garage right now and I don't want to run out there right now. I will have pics by the end of the week for sure, hopefully tomorrow.

I have a 9350 in the throttle of my K2, and its awesome. Its a good steering servo too...but I like to go a little over kill on the torque of my steering servos. Either way, if there are servos in the GT2, I would leave them in there and use the new servos in whichever car you decide to run in the series, and throw the others in the 'play car'.
Have you ever used digital servos before?

I'm running an Airtronics 9438 with upgraded gears so it's like a 9439 in my buggy for steering and a JR 650 for throttle in my buggy.
I have'nt picked any servos out for my GT2 yet.
No on the digital. I was looking at the JR9000T & S for my buggy
Do you know if the Futaba servo leads will fit into my JR reciever?

Sounds like the buggy has good gear...I would just get a couple of JR 590's for the GT2.
My Futaba servo has a standard J-style connector on it, but I got mine used, so not sure if its stock or not...
When you use digi's, its super important that there is no binding in the steering and throttle/brake linkage. Check for binding in the throttle linkage when the brakes or throttle are applied and when your front suspension is at full extension with the wheels turned to full lock in either direction. Also if youre using a failsafe, make sure you dont forget to turn off the switch at the end of your heat...youll smoke a throttle servo quick. I killed a 8800s that way...
Im getting a 9000s for the steering in my SP2...

Way cool!!!!!
I wish somebody would give me a trugster.:D
I want a 8ight-T or a mugen MBX5-T
I also have been giving those JR9000s some tought and think they are sounding good. I'm a airtronis fan but those do sound good if not better that airtronics for about the same price.

Haha not sure, this might not be his big race truggy. Most pro's have a club car and a big race car.
