Im not anti immigrant. All of our families were immigrants at some point right? Sure they were...but that was a different time.

I think the best thing to do would be to make it as difficult to become a American citizen as it is to become a citizen in any other country...that way once a person has attained the PRIVILAGE of being an American they will cherish it, instead of looking at it as a free ride and a way to get something for nothing....The other thing that needs to change before 'We the People' will begin to see a change, is the level of punishment illegals recieve. Just like any other crime, if the punishments were harsh, people would think twice before acting...screw all this feel good crap, we need to put ourselfs first.....IMHO
