Does anyone use gasket goo to seal up their engine. I have used it on my two last engines - Traxxas 2.5r & OS .18TM but still haven't used it on my WS7

Any RTV will work but it depends if it can take the heat which is why Copper is recommended by everyone

Is there a reason why manufactures don't put gasket goo from factory?

i tryed it once. it was called instant gasket. it worked until for some reson the nitro reacted with it and damaged some components. but it did hold up for 3-4 tanks

That's wierd....I have never sealed an engine with anything. This is the first time I've ever heard of anyone using gasket materials to seal engines and I've been doing this for a long time. What exactly are you guys sealing? The carb? Head?

The back plate, around the base of the carb,And I even seal the pinch nut,you can all so put some on the HSN to insure that the copper gaskets dont suck air.
I most alway do this before I even put a motor in my car just to be sure I dont get a air leak.
The reason you have never had a issue Andy is because your so fast the motor is getting twice the air flow then us.

I just put a small bead around the back plate and around the bottom of the carb.
