The BL that comes in the Losi is a 4300 Novak, the equivilant of a really good 27-19 turn motor...so not really that fast. If youre looking for impressive speed, you need to look into aftermarket ESC/motor, like the Mamba Maxx, or equivilant.

The cells you use to power it will have a huge effect on speed. You get what you pay for and because nickel based chemistry doesnt have a good lifespan, you should look into LiPo. The cells last FOREVER, and the weight you save will make the car that much faster...but nitro is still mo betta :)

IF, you are going to get a RTR, make sure it's a quality kit like AE or Losi...some may be cheaper but you get what you pay for.

It's been a long time since I looked at RTR cars. I know TC3 came with a 19turn motor years ago and our local track would let you run it in the sportsman class. Same with the TC3 nitro. They were hard to beat. But I'll keep my HPI cars (somebody has to come in dead last).
