Hpi Savage , Traxxas Revo 2.5cc/3.3cc (3.3cc is the newer version with a bigger engine) , Team Losi Lst2 are all popular choices for trucks..
Hpi Savage = BIGTIME Basher (Can be modded to race)
Traxxas Revo 2.5r/3.3 = Racer (Can be modded to bash)
Team Losi Lst2 = Basher/Racer (Both in one package)
You can get them cheap on EBAY.COM 2nd hand or brand new depends..
I have a Kyosho madforce too and its pretty nice but i know many people dont like it ... Its good fun .. I dont know about truggies to be honest!

 i have a savage x that i ovel dirt track race now.. it does real good with stock motor . but the diffs in the truck are not stong enough . i just bought the best alluminum diffs hpi has to offer ( used in the savage x ss kit ) .. and now i have the problem whipped.. i also put a werks racing steel pipe on it .. it sounds and runs awesome .. if you buy a savage you will need a stronger steering servo to .. the stock one is wimpy.. also put a steel or aluminum spur gear in the truck.. i stripped a few of them racing.. but the truck does make a great racer.. i run pro-line bowties (soft) on offset wide rims the truck looks so cool that wide for racing ... well holler back if ya need more info.. see ya steve:rock:
