I got tired of the stock hinge pins on the front end of my Matrix. It always seemed like I was loosing one of the e-clips when I wanted to work on the front end of my car. After a little research and some measuring I found the Mugen MBX5 Prospect hinge pins (with nylon lock nuts) will work in place of the stock CEN hinge pins. The bottom hinge pin requires no modification to work while the top hinge pin will need two or three small washers to get proper spacing for the nut to tighten down.
This is a quick simple way of getting rid of the stock E-clip hinge pins from the Matrix.
Do you want a better selection of springs for your Matrix??? You can replace the stock Springs with any Mugen MBX5 springs.
The Matrix will except the Kyosho K Car diff's with no mod's.
If you want your diff's to run with a little less friction remove two opposing planet gears from the diff. This will reduce the initial drag in the diffs and make them feel more like the Kyosho K car diffs.
If you are having problems chewing up the outdrives of your front or rear diff's replace the drive cups with the same cups in the center diff. This also helps if you have any issues with the axle popping out on occassion.
If you are trying to match the local hot setup for diff oils make sure to subtract 2000 from the given oil wieght. The stock CEN diff without oil is about the same as most diff's with 2000 weight oil in them.
Have fun, drive hard and enjoy.
