THIS trick WILL work on the above mentioned vehicles, & any of the others that use a hump style 5 cell reciever pack!

This SHOULD work with ANY of the 1/8th scale buggy or truggies on the market that utilize a HUMP style 5 cell NiMh rec. pack.

TODAY, I made an idea a REALITY! IT DOES WORK!!! NO Modifications at all!

I absolutely HATE Lipo & LiFe batteries. Me using the Hitec 7.4V Hi Volt servos made to be used with a 2 cell lipo reciever pack with NO regulator is finally SOLVED!

IF you take a 5 cell hump pack (3 bottom, 2 top) & ADD 1 of the same Mah 2/3A cells to the TOP left or right side & move your +/- wire to the added cell, you officially have a 7.2 volt pack. & it fits like a glove with NO modification whatsoever!!

Again, I have done THIS mod on BOTH my Team Caster K8T & ZX 1.5R Pro kits. After the pack "settles down", it is at 8 volts, & when switched ON, drops to 7.5 volts. Just like a Lipo, but withOUT any of the dangers of LiPo!

The hump pack will look to be OFFSET by 1/2 a cell.

John:

The 2 cell, 2200mah Lipo pack (7.4V) is EQUIVILENT (within less than 1 ounce!) to the 7.2V Nimh pack weight wize. The 1 GREAT thing about a Nimh over a Lipo, NO explosions!

WHEN I was racing the Moogs, the lipo would swell so far that when removed from the rec. box, you had about a 15 second delay until detenation! LOL!

Looking like I'm gonna be 'verting a couple of packs for a RC8T today too!
