I just picked up an Axial .28 Spec 1s for my ofna ultra lx1 buggy and im clueless as what i should get for clutch shoes and springs. Buggy is used for bashing, so something durable would be excellent. I will not be using the shoes or springs from the force .28 thats in the buggy now but will the clutch bell and flywheel work on the axial? THanks

yeah the bell and flywheel will work. The are specific to the chassis MFG.
As far as the clutch shoe and spring set up for a .28. I would go with a hard shoe for longevity/durability your looking for (M2C make some really great shoes in different hardnesses) and then just get an assortment of springs to get the punch your looking for. Whitch will very from surface to surface and your own personal preference of feel.
Lighter springs will engage sooner at lower RPM knocking some breath out of the engine and make the clutch feel softer and a heavier(spring) later engaging spring will give a more aggressive punch. For instance Mugen spring from lighter to heavier go from 9.0 - 1.0 - 1.1 gauge. the heavier the spring the later the engagement, the longer it will take to engage, the higher the RPM the engine will rev higher giving more punch. Springs are cheap, just expirement a bit until you get the feel/puch your looking for. Hope this helps.

+1 The Ascendancy clutch is awesome...
I like the Fioroni Vario system too...very similar to the Ascendancy, but the engagement can be tuned without changing springs. Its pretty slick.

i'm with the scoobster on the Fioroni Vario clutch system and the vented flywheel is slick!
i also use the Fioroni Quattro clutch which is a four shoe as opposed to the the 3 shoe Vario!

As a cheap starting point I would just go with carbon shoes and 1.0 springs, once you get more familier with things improve from there. Adujustable clutches are nice but if you are starting out better just going with different springs than stepping up to aluminum shoes after that.

I agree with posts above.
Another option might be:
Dynamite Max Life clutch shoes and 1.0 springs.
I hear those shoes last for a very long time.
