I'm thinking of getting a basher buggy. I would like a RTR with roto start, so I am looking at the Turmoil and the Losi RTR 8ight. Should I wait for the RTR 8ight or just go with the Turmoil? How hard is it to get parts for Sportwerks? I know Losi is very easy to get parts for.
I also thought about getting an OFNA Violator, but the roto start is not compatible with my Losi LST2.

It probably would be worth waiting for the 8ight RTR.
Any reason why you onlt choose those 3 rtr's?

Out of the 3 id say go with the turmoil, lots of happy people here with them. And they are a very fast RTR. Unless you want the new kid on the block with the 8ight.

I would maybe just go get a Sportwerks Turmoil now, but I am afraid parts might be a problem. I don't really know much about the Sportwerks company. Are Losi and Sportworks both distributed by Horizon Hobbies? Does the distributor make a difference?

Id say call your local shops to see what they carry. Both brands are easy to get here. The distributor makes no difference, its up to the shops who they use to get parts.

Losi and Sportwerks are both owned by Horizon, I'm almost 100% sure. And most shops distributor is Horizon Hobby so if they don't have parts on the wall they will most likely be able to order it for you.
I would go with the Turmoil personally.

Yeah, that is correct. Both are owned by Horizon which is the reason why Tower don't stock them

The 8ight is 649.99 http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=LOSB0081
&
The Turmoil is 459.99 http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/44_48/products_id/7327
They both have the same engine, radio, & servos. So it's really just between the differn't chassis.
I really don't know what this whole Truggy Muggy thing is about--either get a buggy or a monster truck--my two cents. Better yet get a buggy and a monster truck!
The muggy was based on the LST which is a MT that is why Losi called it a "Muggy". Truggy's are 1/8th scale and are meant for racing. Monster Trucks are 1/10th scale and aren't made to race.

Well, I bought a new Turmoil off of Ebay for $400. Now to see what buggy driving is all about. Should be interesting and fun.
I didn't want to wait for an 8ight or pay another $250 for what will probably just be a basher anyway.
Looks like I will have a Spektrum radio to put up for sale on Ebay, since I already have a synthesized M11. What should I expect to get for the Spektrum radio and receiver, $100?

Yeah you should be able to get 100 for it, easy. It's a DX2 not a 3.
Yup once you cross onto the buggy side you will never return. The dark side rules! We have cookies!
