Im new the the world of rc cars. I have 3 friends with nitro rc cars and its starting to grow on me, and I havnt even played with one yet. Ive narrowed down my goals of what I want to have to 3 rcs for now. They are all going to be 1/10 scale nitro. I want an awd drift car. Already looking at the HPI drift car... I want to eventually have a top speed car. And if it possible Ide like to find something rwd instead of awd just to be different, and to keep it real with the body that will probably end up on the car. Im looking to break 90mph. This will probably by my project. But first before i buy either, im getting an offroad rc. Im pretty fond of the traxxas slayer 4x4. I am a BIG fan of realism when it comes to scale models. And although the trophy truck is cool Ide like to have a chevy truck body on the slayer.

So heres my questions...

Is it possible to just stick a 200mm body on a slayer or will it require mods?

And another question, back to the realism thing... Im going to have a problem with those big rods sticking up through the body. What kind of options do I have to secure the bodys on my rcs withought having holes in the bodys?

Thanks for any help guys, Im going to need it cause Im a complete newb.

proline makes a chevy silverado body that is made for the slash but should not be a problem fitting to the slayer

Found it. Its a chevy, but its also a trophy truck body and thats not what I want... I was thinking more along the lines of something like this... http://www.prolineracing.com/products/1972_Chevy_C_10_Clear_Body-156-44.html

most of the 1/10 bodies are not going to fit a slayer, although they may say the slayer is 1/10 the wheelbase and width are really closer to 1/8 scale, your best bet would be to look for a 1/8 chevy body and get the dimensions from the body and compare to the slayer dimentions, hope this helps

Cool. Thanks. Ill check into some 1/8 bodies and see what I can come up with... One more question though, does the slayer have the 4 pins that hold the body on or is it mounted differently?
