Ok so I was out at the parking lot tuning since we had just replaced a few gaskets on the pipe and header. Had some starting issues and eventually got it to start after I replaced the plug cause it kept flooding. So I retuned it, after I got it started, leaned it a tiny bit cause it was runnin hot and faster than usual. As soon as I hit the gas it locked up....
Sooo what should I get? I just want something to work with the header and pipe I have now to save some money...
Novarossi? O.S? Another Go Tech??
idk where to start.

Cant remember... Ill have to look at it. Its the one Cbonner had on it with the .25 Gotech motor.

that looks pretty cool 6 port, good hp and high RPMS... not to mention its cheap but im sure theres a reason to it.

I got it running.. there was some crap in the crank case that I had to clean out but the bearing and everything seemed clean??? I gotta figure out my tuning though cause glow plugs arent lasting me 5 minutes no matter what I do...

Clayton:
GO with the WERKS B5 .21 engine & THE O.S. 2060 pipe! Thats what I have on my Truggy & it has way more power then you need! Ask ZIPPER on the 'catch up ability'! LOL!)
The werks is a great engine for the price. I did a ton of engine shopping for the X6T BEFORE actually buying an engine. ANYTHING bigger than a .21 is just going to be MORE unusable TORQUE! The Werks, (for me!) has a super bottom end, PERFECT mid range, & awesome top end! (& 'm still using the ORIGINAL glow plug! Running O'D's 30% nitro.)
My 2 centz & hope it helps!

I hope you meant "rich" instead of "lean". If your too lean, plugs won't last and you'll flame-out a lot. With the cold temps we've had, you'll want to tune by smoke and performance, not temp. The cool air pulls heat out of the motor faster, making it possible for you to be dangerously lean (i.e. not enough oil to the motor) and still be under your normal temp.

well it was 49 when I was running earlier so wasnt that cold. Yes I meant rich, sorry. I cleaned the motor out and retuned it so now its at least idling smooth, but as far as getting up and go, idk yet. Its too dark. but I ran it around the driveway acouple times before my throttle servo decided to strip out for what ever reason.
Owell im still gonna buy a back up motor if anyone can recommend something. I'd like to keep the pipe I have but I have no clue what it is... I ended up sanding the logo off I think when I was trying to get the baked crud off of it...

+1, B5 is a great mill for the money, and it now comes with a completely new carburetor...2010 Model, Ive fondled it and its BAD ASS!
Out of all the engines you mentioned, the B5 is the only one you should consider...

Clayton,
Listen to what Ron and Scoobie are telling you !!!!!!!!!!!!
These two don't just throw sh1t out there to be doing it, THEY KNOW what they are doing.
Be smart and buy the B5 if your gonna get a new mill on a budget. It is more than enough motor for you.
You running an Air filter on your motor ?
Here's over 1000 posts about the B5 for you to read through

If it doesn't add a Dynamite 053 (for mid range torque) or a Dynamite 086 (Top End peed) they come with a header and you will still come out cheaper than the other motors.
Or you could get a 007 for all out bottom end power.
I run the 053 when I cant get my groove on, it gives me more pop off the jumps and great out of corner power, when I am spot on and having a great day I will run the 086 for top speed.

Ok cool...
Ill see if I can pull off the 053 also.
So you all agree that a B5 and a 053 combo will get me a chance of the top 5 if we are ever runnin at HH (thats if my driving skills get up to spec also, haha-although for a beginner I dont think im too terrible)
If so ill order it Saturday. Anyone know if Hobby Town might have it??? I gotta go there Saturday to order a servo anyways...

I always ordered on Sunday and it showed up on Wed. 3 day is the way to go, Especially during the hardcore race season.
Do yourself a favor and quite paying taxes on parts, order it online dude !!!!! anytime you can save $$$ somewhere do it cuz this stuff adds up fast.

Your funny, only 1k
I ain't even gonna get started with figures, for one if me wife ever finds out how many 1k's I have dropped, well it's been nice knowing ya guys.
Heres how I do it for a Race Season, Buggy and a spare everything. When I break something, I re-order what I used from the parts lot. Everytime you place an order you throw in bearings and a glow plug or two.
I don;t bash my race cars :nono: If I run them at the house, it is driving figure 8's in the back yard.
I am considering an On road car to play with since the Basher Slayer just ...well it sucks !!

Yeah... When I order my motor Im gonna order 4 glow plugs for now (ill order alot more when season starts), another set of A-arms since I've used the right one, uhh the free splash T-shirt, and some amain hobby stickers lol. When I get more extra money ill start buying more spair parts but Cbonner pretty much gave me the hook up on alot of extra parts..

I believe that the pipe on that motor was a MSR1005. The headers will work on most engines. Sorry I didn't respond earlier, been kind of tied upu with family stuff.

All I can say is pull up a stool for when you first fire it off, my first tank ran forever .
Theres an EXCELLENT sticky in the engine area on break in. READ IT.
What fuel you gonna run ??
