Ive used the Power Now 7mm restrictor in my P5x. It made the bottom end really snappy, but lost a little on top.

Scoobie, you say you lost some top end, how long is the straight at the track you race? What about run time? I'll gladly give up some top end for low end snap and 10+ minutes on a 125ml tank.

I was wondering the same thing. Do you have a shot of the track?

This is the track I run the 7mm insert at. I was getting a little over 8 minutes with the 7mm insert....almost 8:30, but the car felt like it was falling on its face 80' down the 90' straight.
With the stock 8mm I can get almost 8 minutes. Thats also using a Ofna 086, with a Werks conical header and Sidewinder 30% Worlds.

Seems to me if you pull it out that's more air and more power but less run time? But you say u loose top end with them in?

I have been told but never tested.. I know JAYLUDE would be a great canidate for how this really works... But i beleave that the smaller the insert the better the mileage it also has less affect on bottom end power but does affect the top...

The restrictors definitely have a purpose. In my experience you will gain run time with smaller restrictors and lose a marginal bit of your top end. It's basically a way to limit the rpm. I use them in all the engines I have, Ninja JX21, OS Speed, XZ 28, GO Tech 5pt etc. The results have been the same with each. Currently I'm using the JX21 in my truggy with between 11 to 13 minute runs, OS Speed in the mbx6 w/11+ minutes. The GO Tech ran 12:40 in the truggy at Paradise this weekend, and it was only running 210 in the heats and 184 in the main..... too rich :shoot:
