I have a truggy that is a pain to tune, the truggy runs fine but after a wide open pass it idles high, almost like it's running out of fuel and won't idle down properly, it's been a while since I've run nitro and I'm not sure what needle affects this situation, or if it's a lean or rich condition. Any help on basic tuning would be great.

Thank-you

Check out this thread. It was made sticky for reason! I was out of the nitro (heck, RC) scene for 8+ yrs. This guide makes more since than anything Ive read. Your woes sound alot like mine, probably too-rich on the bottom and way-lean on the top. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Do you know if its over heating on track? Good smoke out the exhaust the whole run, or does it fade out after a lap or so?
Welcome back to NITRO!:ah1:

In order for you to obtain proper guidance in a solution to your problem you should include what type of truggy you have, engine size and how many adjustment needles are on the carb...

From the symptoms you are describing you may have an airleak at the carb pinch bolt at the blank head,an air leak at the fuel banjo or at the carb needles themselves..Theres o-rings that seal them and when they become old they split, shrink and leak air...I seal my needles up with new o-rings and tire slime....I usually seal the carb pinch bolt end with thick tire glue or I totally remove the carb and seal it up pinch bolt and all with sensor safe copper base rtv.
