Electric onroad cars are fun to race. I have raced sedans on carpet, mostly and some pavement. Some like belt cars, some like shaft drives. TC3 was the most popular. www.rctech.net is the best place to see what is hot and not with sedans. They talk about other cars but sedans is the main thing there. Even top drivers such as Barry Baker, Mike Blackstock and others post on that forum. I started out on oval carpet and raced about 5 years on a road course with sedans and 12th scales and I'd have to say that is really improved on my oval skills. I'd love to race on a carpetedroad course track with a sedan on rubber tires. Maybe offroad could help with someone's oval skills, I have no idea. I raced off road twice back in the early 90's. I just didn't care for it and besides, there were major issues with our local track back then.
12th scale was just an extra class for me for track time but turned out to be the funnest, laid back class. I wasn't so serious like I was with the sedan. 8 minutes was a blast and hacking it out with other friends who if you all wrecked each other, it was a big laugh but we had some serious racing too. Sedans raced 5 minutes. Mod 6 cell was unreal let alone 19turn. I mainly race stock, bigger class.

I heard that the next TC5 (or whatever it will be called) will be belt driven instead of shaft driven

TT01 seems to be the biggest choice these days as its fully upgradeable and can drift well and plus the fact that it dont need anyting to be change to go from drift to race format other than the tyres.

another good one i see around is the TB01 these are worth more but they are really nice to drive.

i own a Venom VR-01 Sport there a hard one to find as they dont make the cars anymore but i like it for the entry level its nice but im upgrading to the TL-01 for a bit more options and just a better car all over.

in the other cars like the off road i cant say whats best as ive only seen 1 in my area but i do know there is a few around.

thanks racemania81

well i seen a TT-01 with so many hopups i cant remeber them all beat a brand new RS4 3ss and it was a fast TT01 he had the best of everything in it what seemed like a good hpi was too slow in the corners and had to slow down too much to turn where the TT01 was just nice and smooth and putting in a few slides there are some good electrics out there that have potential when up against a nitro ppl tend to look for the noise and buy for the noise, i know the elecs cost more in the long run and will end up being a pian but nothing compares to a nitro the 2 diff cars are just so much fun to drive.

when i asked all my mates around for a BBQ i pulled out my 3 cars 2 of which are nitro every one took the option of having a go with the nitros first but when i gave them the elec they loved it one of my mates even went down and brought one off the shelf the same day, so in my opinion i think drive a few diff ones do some research and find somthing that every one likes and you could have your self a nice racer..

Hmm... some great info. Yes would love to see some electrics run. I would not have a problem buying one as long as its onroad.
