HEY GUYS WHAT IS THE BEST .21 ENGINE FOR A TRUGGY? i AM LOOKING FOR SOMTHING THAT IS SUPER SMOOTH ON THE BOTTOM BUT REALLY RIPS ON THE TOP AS WELL AS SOMTHING THAT WILL NOT WEAR TO FAST LIKE THE V SPEC SO FAR THE TOP 2 ARE THE OS SPEED AND THE MUGEN JX .21 BO1A. WHAT OTHER .21S DO YOU GUYS RATE IN THE SAME CATIGORY

Hey Bob,I've been looking for a new engine for the past couple of weeks and I'm going with the B01, the B01A is backordered, but I really don't care about the lightened head. I know that the black coating on the crank is great and holds up for quite a few gallons, and all I have heard is good about these engines, and it helps that replacement parts aren't super expensive. I tried Richard Beals truggy for a minute yesterday with the B01/ 053 pipe, he has a fioroni clutch but the engine felt pretty smooth out of corners, but with more than enough rip to get over the over-under. I looked at everything else, and this seems like the easiest choice as far as performance to price, and they flat haul ass too.

i saw a Toro Nero NovaRossi run on the weekend and was very impressed with its performance and fuel mileage

The engines that are winning almost everything at Rattlesnake are the 2 that you mentioned. You've got your answer already. haha. The only time that anouther brand of engine wins there is because a pro brings it in, but they can win with anything they run.

Im blown away with the Ninja. Its one of the best engines Ive ever touched. Easy to tune, gets great milage and power to spare.

I would have to say that the tuned 21 GRP is a great choice for truggy and buggy. I have been running one for almost a full year.(June will be a year). I am about to surpass 11 gallons on this beast. By far the best engine I have used yet.

I ran my Ninja for it's first race yesterday at Nor-Cal round 2 @ Rescue, after giving it only 8 tanks of break in I ran it around 180 for the first heat, it made good enough power that I was able to qualify 2nd behind Philip Atondo and was one of only 3 people to set a 10 lap qualifier in truggy. In the 2nd heat I leaned the low in a bit and it really started waking up making more low end power than I think my RB could have, I struggled to keep it in control as I am still learning the car and the boost in power was significant, 2nd round was sloppy because of it, temped at 201. In the main warmup I leaned the top and bottom an hour each, ran great for the whole 25 minute main and temped 209. I am very impressed that it could make so much power being as tight as it still is, this thing is going to be a rocket once the pinch gets really broken in.

Hey Red. Sounds like you got an engine that you can really race with now. Good going. How did you finish up in the main.

I finished 3rd, Dennis Close, Ron Kamarer and myself battled for 2nd for about 18 minutes within 10 seconds of eachother, I got up in 2nd for a few minutes and had a 9 second lead on 3rd until I hit the rutted-up hill a tick too fast, flipped, and had to wait 20+ seconds to be marshalled, allowing Dennis to get by. At the end it was Philip, Dennis, and myself in the top 3.
