View Full Version : Mbx6 brake adjustment help

Anyone who can take a picture of thier linkage or explain how to properly set it please help. Right now the slides are tight. do they need to wear in? All help will be greatful. This is basically the last step and I am going to Dalton on Saturday.

Slides are tight? Do you mean that after you release the brakes, they still remain engaged? If so, you may need to loosen the four screws that hold the carbon top plate down. Give that a try and see if it helps.

I had to dremel out the bushing in the top plate a LITTLE to free up the brake cam. Mugen didn't use a bearing and it is VERY tight, also like ^ said don't tighten down the 4 long mounting bolts too tight.
King Headz just released a center diff top plate with bearings that will fix this problem too, but a little dremel work does too.
I also put some small springs that I had from my pan car days between the brake calipers to push them back apart!

Porkchop, I tried the Dynamite one like that but the adjusting nut hit the body BAD. But I think hes is talking about the brake arms and cams being hard to turn in the top plate:confused:

yeah it hits the body a lil but they all do and i like it better.
also fyi for you guys the new body is updated my kit body was thiner then the extra one i ordered
