Anyone know much about the hb d8? I just completed the build on mine. Just waiting for motor and pipe. Is there any aftermarket parts? Upgrades? Any input, info would be great. Thanks:huba:

I'm just finishing mine as well , all i added was a full set of acer ceramic pro bearings, picked up a set of blue springs , thats about it , i plan on running it & then will make up my mind what is needed to suite my driving style & go from there. don't get caught up in all the hop ups , drive it first.
been there done that , you will be suprised how much you will save. it looks to be great outa the box. build went very smooth. Big thread here. by the way Welcome to the forum!

i agree with Nitrofin, up grade what you break at first or until you know the buggy and can tell what you think will be an improvement to it.

hope you guys enjoy the D8's and welcome to the forum

If you search the internet you will find alot of people who are haven problems with the D8 breaking. Also one of the RC Mags said the plastic seems brittle. IMO. The D8 that won the Worlds isnt the same buggy you can buy.I think the Worlds had better parts on it. Now for a $400 buggy that you will have to upgrade i would go ahead and buy a $500-600 buggy that i wouldnt have to upgrade and be done with it <<<<<All of this is just my thoughts

If you search the internet you'll find that all buggy's have flaws, the D8 seems to be just the CVD's which Hotbodies is working on now, and its not all D8's and there not saying if these CVD's broke in a crash or just normal run's, most of what Ive read about it everyone that has bought the D8 are very pleased with it, so 350.00 and buy a few parts or 550.00 and buy a few part's its a no brainer

Trust me when I say, the D8 is a awesome rig for the money. It does have some minor issues, but nothing that cant be worked out. Ive broken 2 rear cvd bones in a little over 2 gallons, both were stock kit parts (3.2mm vs. new 3.5mm), and both breaks were caused by BAD out of shape landings. The nice thing, is HB sent me 4 new updated bones...Im happy. From what Ive read, the Kyosho lightweight unis work in the D8, as do the Jammin and HB Evo 2.

Thats the only problems Ive had with the car that werent caused by me...

The plastics arent brittle, theyre soft...almost rubbery. I could see the plastics having a little too much flex when the weather gets warm, possibly causing a problem. Keep in mind, because the plastic is so soft, its very easy to overtighten things and strip out a screw hole. So be carefull not to wrench down too hard on screws going into plastic.
