PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Kyosho MP777 WC Team Edition

Tuesday, August 22, 2006 - Kyosho has announced a new full-option
MP777 WC Team Edition 1/8 off-road buggy, which will be the car run by
the Kyosho International Team drivers at the 1/8 Off-Road IFMAR World
Championship in Indonesia. Based on the MP777 SP2, the new WC Edition
will include many of the option parts develop over the last year in
anticipation of the World Championship race. Each of the upgraded
parts makes incremental improvements to what is already the most
successful line of competition nitro off-road racers in the history of
RC racing.
Using the 777 SP2 as the foundation of the WC Team Edition means the
SP2 will benefit from all the parts developed for the WC Edition. In
fact, many of the parts that will be included in the WC Team Edition
kit are already available as option parts for the SP2. So if you're in
the market for a new buggy and you want the best-equipped model
available, the WC Team Edition is the clear choice. The total retail
cost of the additional factory performance parts that are now standard
in the WC Team Edition total more than $290, but the street price will
only increase by $10 over the SP2! That's $280 worth of extra value
for FREE! Current SP2 owners can also upgrade with available option
parts.

The content of the WC Team Edition kit includes many features of the
current SP2 plus all the following factory options:

• Partially equipped with titanium screws
• SP heavy-duty aluminum front chassis brace (IFW323F)
• SP heavy-duty aluminum rear chassis brace (IFW323R)
• 2 Pair of ACRE bonded semi-metallic brake pads (IFW324)
• Hard front lower suspension arm (IF330H)
• Hard rear lower suspension arm (IF331H)
• Hard wing mount (IF121H)
• Hard dish wheels (IFH001)
• 14T SP clutch bell (IFW47)
• 48T lightweight spur gear (IFW325)
• New rear shock tower (TBA)
• New, heavy-duty shock diaphram (TBA)

•• Available early December

31780B Inferno MP777 WC Team Edition Street Price: $759.99

I'm guessing that the new car will have the same chassis? I like how most of the parts on Kyosho buggies are interchangeable like the diffs, so if you want to upgrade you don't have buy a whole new kit.

Neo Buggy is saying that there drivers will be driving this at the Worlds

*I also moved this thread to the Portal section so it will be on the front page. :0pouce:

I can second that, I heard it too. He also said its not a rebadged TTR.

Im really torn, cause from the time I was a kid, I always wanted a RC10....that stuck with me forever. When I re-discovered the hobby, I started with a T4, and aquired a bunch of other AE stuff as time went on. I guess you could say I was a AE loyalist...with the new AE buggy coming, I am really interested to see what they do and if it works (who cares what it looks like on paper).

After seeing the Lo$i 8ight in person, I really wonder If AE can hang. Not only is it cutting edge design, it was in a different class than the other factory cars I saw run. It was agile, but it didnt look twitchy. The bumps didnt even upset it. It accelerated harder than any car I saw run (Powered by a Werks Team Line B7) and it was accelerating through bumpy portions of the track that every one else was avoiding...

Its going to be a hard choice

Yeah, some people thought the design will be a failure as the SP1 had a similar type engine set-up but after the race a few weeks ago when Travis was racing it, it really proved it was nothing like the SP1

You can't tell the differnce because it is a SP2 with hop ups on it and the Pro's would already had all the hopups on there old ones

The mud flaps on the rear arms are BADA$$!!!!!

There arent many changes, the rear shock tower, brakes, and the addition of rigid plastic parts...Kanai is also running all the stock aluminum on his car.

Thats what I'm saying though, all the WC's stock aluminum is actually an upgrade for the SP2

The radio plate, motor mount, center diff plate and the top plate are stock sp2 gear. It does come with the new rod style front/rear chassis braces, a new rear shock tower and Ti screws...

One thing that really bugs me. It doesnt have CNC knuckles. For the money they want for the roller kit, it should have CNC knuckles. Its becoming a expected part on a 'Pro' kit...

I talked with a Team Kyosho driver tonight and he told me that he would only run the new buggy on high temp blue groove tracks because of the new harder plastic, but they break a lot easier. He also said the rear arms are longer but the hubs are shorter to stay within the width regulations.

So I think if I do get an new buggy it will be the plain SP2.
