Hey guys, I finally got my engine alive, but it seems like the brakes are not tight enough, because they take forever to stop the truck, even at 1/4 throttle. I have consulted the manual, but i can't find a daggum thing about the brakes, so any ideas?
Thanks in advance, Deuce

check all the linkages and check your EPA on the radio.

If all the linkage is okay, not binding, you may want to replace the stock spring with a piece of fuel tubing, springs wear out and the fuel tubing will hold up better.

glad it worked out for you. Those trucks love a little drag brake on them. Not to much, it will effect the truck in the air. Just a bit, will help the truck turn better when the weight transfers to the front.
PM expertbasser for some GT set up tips. He has built some of the best handling 2wd's Ive ever got to drive.

Deuce:
BE 110% certain that the brake disc is DRY & dont have ANY type of lube on it. Also, IF you're still using the stock brake disc, you definately wanna upgrade to the carbon fiber one. Just give it a scuffing & it'll last for almost ever! (Still using the same one for over 6 years!!!) Also, you might wanna make sure the brake shoes are NOT worn out, if they have grooves in either side, REPLACE them. You can get an entire brake set for under 10 bux! IF the brake disc still has the PLASTIC hex adapter, throw that freaking thing away & get an aluminum one, (3-4 bux!). The fuel tubing DOES work MUCH better than the spring! I dont know what Associated was thinking on the spring!!!
I Hope all this helps & Thanks LUV!!!
