I'm looking at getting my own personal transponder. What transponder is everyone else running and where is the cheapest place to pick one up? Also I guess I need a y - harness for it so where can I get it also or how long of a one do I need? Thanks guys! :D

cheapest would be to find a used one.otherwise call rc compound in oakridge 865-483-0484 they had them for 99.00 u shoudnt need a y connector for it. it plugs straight in the reciever. but if you need one they will have it :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Thanks for the info. I would rather get a new one rather than take a chance on a used one but I will check them out. Thanks, I appreciate it!

AMB is the only available RC transponders that I am aware of.

A Main Hobbies.com has them in stock always.

No harness is needed that I am aware of, plugs directly into your receiver.

Best way to go if you plan on racing IMO. No house transponder hassles and most events now require personals. They are spendy - but a one time purchase and you are good for life I recon.

No harm in getting a used one, so long as the wires aren't melted or something. I have never seen an issue with personal transponders, nor have I ever come across a bad one.
