Best chassis would most likely be the Ofna dirt oval chassis. This will save you the trouble of locking the center diff since there is not one. If you go this route you will need to get the hardened diff gears. Other than that everything else is pretty much personal preference.

Yes the ofna GTP or the dirt oval chasis would be the ones to get. And if you are gonna run limited latemodel, id get the nova rossi N21B 3 port motor. Now get a good set of foam tires and you got a winning combo!:winner::winner::winner:

Foam tires are a must if you want to go fast and be competitive. SOme guys run rubber tires but the fast guys are runnong foams. Outback and Family are in good enough condition to run foams without too much chunking, although a lot is in the setup.

My suggestion would be go to the track a few time's and look around, ask some question's, almost everyone you meet will tell you about what their racing, and they are right its all about setup and the driver, the only thing that will make you faster is time on the track

The hardened gears you want are ofna part # 31010 You can order them from H&H or off the people advertising at the top right. I got mine off of Ebay. (These are a must!)
You need a good steering servo, You could strip the gears out of a stock servo.
A limited engine is probably the best way to go because of the cost. The Nova Rosi engine is the fastest but not the most reliable. The OS VG is more reliable.
Foams could be gotten from RC4less or if anyone around sells them.
A-plus bodies are the better body to use, pretty strong unless you crash a lot.
Ask fast guys what the best setup is for your 1/8th scale dirt oval roller.
I'm sure I left something out. Take your time and build it up the way it should be instead of doing it not caring. Not sure how else to phrase it.

Ofna Gtp Dirt Oval Chassis
This Car Is Holding The Track Record At Both Outback And Family Rc Track's As Far As I Know.you Will Have To Change The Diff.gears Because The Stock Ones Want Last.the Os 21 Vg Or The Nova 21 Bf Are Both Great Engine's For The Limited Class.
Just Go To Family Rc On Friday Nite Or Outback Speedway On Sat And Anyone Will Show You Or Tell You All U Need To Know.
I Have Both A Gtp For Outlaw With 21 Bf And A Jammin 1/8 Scale Buggy Limited Os21vg And They Turn About The Same Lap Time's.to Go Fast Foam's And Set Up Is Where It's At.
Hope To C-ya At The Track.

Depends on the track. The tracks we run on have some rules . 1/8 scale - no truggy chassis. most use buggy or GTP 1/10 scale most use TC3 or 4. There are some that run 2wd cars on oval, some even run sprint bodies on the 2wds.

thats cool. but a revo is 8th scale. could i put on a late model body(goofey lookin) and race that. or is it considered too much of a truggy?
well. monster truggy?
