hi all new to the forums so i thaught id say hi :)

im also new to nitro cars and have had problems with my Smartech Winner Sport its a fairly cheap buggy i know but best to start with a crappy one first :P. the problem is that it dosnt seem to get enough power to the back wheels it just slowly crawls forward. it used to work fine but did suffer an accident when a car drove over it the only damage we found was a few bent fins on the engines HS and the petrol tank was shatterd and front wheel arms damaged but i think also damaged the Carburetors fuel intake & main adjusting screw as there seems to be a leak from it. like i said im new to nitro cars so i dont know if the leak from the carbs fuel intake is causing the lack of power

leaky carbs and tanks are a big NO NO:nono: on these things. All the parts you mentioned that were damage, are CRUCIAL to the performance of these engines.

With no power and leaks, Id say it prolly a little lean on the tune, starving for fuel cause its just not getting to the engine.

Id recomend taking it to a LHS and getting someone to look at it. With limited information or picuters this will be hard to pin point EXACTLY what is wrong, if not multiple things after being ran over.

I would use this vehicle as a learning tool and tear that sucker down, remove the drive train and differentials and clutch assembly and so on, to help identify any broken parts.

RC cars are meant to be completely taken apart and put back together. One thing I remember when I was new to RC was that I was hesitant to take stuff apart, thinking I would not get it back together properly and create more problems for myself. That was probably true - :D - but never the less.... you should go forward anyway and learn all the working aspects of this vehicle, as it will only help you in the future.

Hard to say what might be the cause of the problems, without seeing it first hand, and having no knowledge of that specific vehicle. Sorry to not be able to offer any answers, but advice is all I got.

:confused:like grasshopper said it is only guess work. but I would make sure the brakes are not sticking, also did you damage the exhaust in any way? do or do'es it roll freely?

Thanks for the advice a full dismantle might help i need to get to know all about the car :) i would dismantle other things like (mainly electronic items EG hi-fi) so the car shouldn’t be any different. No the exhaust is fine it’s a brand new aluminium tuned one. I’ve a few ideas what it could be but not fully sure. I spotted the gears on the transmission are worn down a lot from the original clutch bell (its been replaced after the "accident") so they would need to be replaced but it could be the engine to as it did get car rolled over the top of it :P lol

go for it man, you'll be fine. I used to take everything apart when I was a kid. So much I used to get in trouble for it.
