I don't know about the 18r specifically, but I have owned two 18t's, so I can tell you that they are durable, easy to work on, and pretty fun to screw around with when the weather doesn't permit enough time for a regular 1/8th scale race day:thumbs:

I have the FT 18T and made it into a late model I run on carpet. I can run it on dirt if I wanted, just have to raise it back up. I've beefed up the vital parts with aluminum but did not want to go all out with all that metal. Just rebuild the diffs once in a while as with any vehicle, and have at it. I also put a Quark brushless and have 2 motors, a 6800kv and an 8000. I run a 2 cell lipo for run time and don't have to worry about those silly 6 cell packs. Any more questions, let us know.

I have an 18R, they are fun, durable, work on carpet, dirt, asphalt, anything. If you haven't found one yet, mine is for sale, it has 4 or 5 bodies, hopped up engine, shock mounts, all kinds of stuff. I have pictures at home, and maybe in the for sale thread here. I ran it about 5 minutes in my house, and when the time was right to go race indoor with it, we had 2 feet of snow on the ground, and it wasn't safe to travel 40 miles to the track...

They are a good platform and tons of fun for indoor action. Git you one - and then I can whoop up on you with my Xray M-18 this winter ! :D

Hey mitch, i just got a FT 18B for my kid and it is pretty sweet. It was a fun build too. And i like the fact that i can turn it into any of the other rc18 by just switching out a couple of parts. One thing that bums me out is the sub-micro servo. We would have way better servo options if it was just a regular micro servo (like the x-rays, and micro RS4) . I put the ace 1016 in mine and am not to happy with it. I found out hitec has a digital sub-micro but we dont carry them. I will probably end up special ordering one though.

which servo is it? I am going to have a pair of 5245 for sale as soon as I get them back from Hitec....
