Hey, just asking in case. Got my mbx5r out and getting it ready to run this weekend, i have not touched the fluids in it for a while (all winter just sitting) when i get into the throttle it has a humming sound like gear mesh is a little off. The bell and spur are good. i was thinking the diffs are most likely dry? What you guys think?

well, i decided to to a teardown and replace the fluids and add some lithium grease to all the cvds.

A little white lightning or pedros (or similar product) on your out drives before every run is a good idea, helps extend the life of both your out drives and your CVD pins a lot.
did you check the CB bearings as well?

I am new here and was wondering, putting grease on the cvd's won't that attract dirt? and let it stick to the grease causing it or the part to wear faster? and what is Pedro's?

you dont really use a grease grease more of a lube. i have personally never used it but i usually tear my buggy down after a weekend and clean it.

old thread I know but @ bigmatt : white lightning and Pedro's are mountain bike chain lubes. A very good idea for rc gears because the " ice wax " as one brand calls it, is super smooth and does not attract dirt because it cures dry. Used on mountain bike applications and probably cheaper than some RC specific gear lubricant.
