IMO the traxxas people are morons.

They have the old nitro sport that you could convert into a Nitro Rustler which is still old but better.

And the Nitro Rustler has a 2.5 in it. Then they come out with a Jato, kinda of an updated race Nitro Rustler. Why go back to the nitro sport

The nitro rustler was designed to be an entry-level Nitro car. Thus the stupid direct steering and half alum. half plastic chassis. I had a nitro sport with pro .15 and yes the Pro .15 is pretty lame but with a good port/polish job it woke up considerably. The Pro .15 engine was good for entry level people but for those of us that want more power the 2.5/2.5r was more suitable and of course for the crazy theres the 3.3. I put a 2.5r on the sport which ran great and it did wheelies for the first time. I liked my sport but I spent the $90 to convert the chassis to the nitro rustler chassis 2 years ago which greatly improved handling and thus speed. I put a 3.3 on my Rustler but if you want to go fast IMO, I'd stay with a 2.5/2.5r. I spend a lot of time trying to feather the wheelies out. Sorry for the long post - Just had to say my peace. The nitro rustler may be an older design, but with a few aftermarket parts they hold up quite nicely.
