well this my first post and probally not my last seem to keep tearing the tmaxx up ....i am new to these cars but have already tore the tranny out of my tmaxx 3.3 ...took it apart and 2 gears were tore up inside . it has the big joe 40 series tires and i am wondering what would be the best bet for fixing it ....plastic or just replace it with metal gears ? any help would be appreciated thanks ........................viper

which plastic gears ??? i bet your slipper clutch is too tight,and or you ran it alot on pavement,

doesnt seem to be ....has good stall
will take it back apart and put up pics

second on the slipper, when i replace mine i tighten it down and then back it off a 1/8. it could also be your tires being to big.
Traxxas makes louse tranny gears, the Revo has the same problem. Go with metal gears, should help.

put your thumb on the gear,hold gear from spinning and push truck it should roll with SOME force not alot, and not a free wheel

i went and got new gears for the tranny and fixed it yesterday . the slipper was as tight as it could be ..guess that was the problem . loosened it up and ran several tanks of fuel threw it today and it never gave me any trouble until something started acting up with the electronics .. the servo for the throttle sometimes works and it is trying to go into reverse on its own ...dont know what the prob is with that .

does the tmaxx tranny have a opita drive sensor in it ??? i can't recall, are your batteries dead in the the truck or the transmitter

ya it has the sensor and i changes all batteries and it didnt help

its probbaly the sensor i acted up on the grevo until i went FOC, you can bypass the sensor, but make sure the truck is stopped before shifting into other direction,
