hi. first off i must say i am a newbie at nitro RC cars. but i got alot of experience in the 2 stroke engine. but that aside

I have pretty much tuned this thing pretty good. takes off great runs great but when i get to full throttle after a while about 5 seconds of full throttle it will all of a sudden start to die. i can save it though.

im thinkin its running alittle on the rich side and killin my glow plug. but its a hot plug. i also though maby to lean but theres a good amount of smoke comeing from the pipe. anyone know what my problem is?

im useing the water trick. and when i put water on the head it evaporates slowly. il mess around with it and lean it up a bit today.

That is a sign that the engine still has room to lean it out. You should use a temp gauge also.

When in doubt...lean it out!

Thanks for the props Dan.
Always tune to power and smoke. Once that is done, then temp it. Some motors like to ran hotter than others.
As long you have good smoke down the straight you should be all good.:winner:

What motor do you have?

you could have an air leak or if the engine has no compression it will do
that and if its a newer engine it might not be broke in yet and you may need a hotter plug.

o i got it. i was running A3 spark plug i leaned it out and damn did it get hot. so hot that it would evaporat the water right when it hit the head. but i got it perfect now. still dont have a temp gun though.

Just make sure there is smoke and you'll be fine
