I need to remove a flywheel and dont have a flywheel puller...Any tips?:confused:

what motor ?? i just give em a light tap on each side and they usally come off

Yeah I've tried hitting it with a flat head screw driver and hammer. I'll try again tomorrow.

Get a flywheel puller.

try heat then tap on it.

Definately use a puller. You dont have to use a flywheel puller...you can use a battery terminal puller!

If your trying to be a "low budget roller" like myself. I use a small hammer. I'll tap 2-3 times on one side of the fly wheel and then tap it 2-3 times on the opposite side. If you just keep tapping on the one side you might as well take the hammer and slam it down on your foot b/c that's all it's good for. After tapping each side a few times the fly wheel will eventually come off.

Yeah thats what google said, but I can't drive to the auto store. So I'll keep trying to tap it off.

It's just for a friend who needs a new clutch to break in his engine.

EDIT: I got it off, few hard hits with the hammer and flat head screwdriver on both sides wiggled it right off.

i agree with scoobie, battery terminal remover tool works excellent for removing flywheels. $3-$5 at your local auto parts store
