i droped the .28 into my 2.5 revo, i used a New Era engine mount, the plus of this motor mount is you don't have to worry about trimming the rear a-arms, if you want to use a pull start or roto start , the only thing i don't really like is the throttle linkage, because the motor is at such a strange angle, if might take a bit to get the linkage operating the right way, also when i had the stock linkage it kept hitting the roll bar, but after i made my own linkage i was able to cut a liitle off the roll bar to clear, now it works like a charm:thumbs: , i also installed a chassis brace, to help with the flex issue,

yes you can use the 2.5 flywheel clutch, i have it on mine now, works good so far, but im still breaking it in, you however need a different flywheel nut, but if you get that New Era mount, it comes with eveything you need, including the flywheel nut,
which starting method are you going to use on it ??

well right now im running a 16cb and 38 spur, stock stuff
tommorow im gonna swap over to a 18cb and 3 shoe clutch, flywheel all 1/8 scale, im planing on sticking with plastic spurs "much easier to replace than tranny gears"
did you check out the qconcepts mount ?? that one pushes the motor back alittle, you might have to trim a-arms, or slide your tranny ahead a little, to get the gear mesh

04-22-2007, 11:35 AM
i dot think that mount will be a option i have aluminum a arms` dont wanna trim the new era kit is no trimming that what i like about it im also ordering all robinson internal tranny gears hopeing i wont have to worry about that stuff after that so your gunna run 18 bell cool so it will fit me a the guy at robinson were not sure if it would` I gota Tmaxx sittin hear i was thinking about dropin that tranny with the 3spd in it but not sure have you herd of a 3 spd set up for the revo yet/? only one's i'v seen are for T-maxx set up that .28: is it a screamer is yours modded what would you rate on the porformance % 1 to 100 i havent ran that motor the 3.3 was to weak for my likeing the 3.3 is to weak and doesnt last long .18 is to weak im hopeing the .28 will make me go 00hh $ht:huba: i do not have a willie bar probly be a good idea to get one wouldnt it:rock: nice revo by the way  :huba: did you anidize it all green or? i have the same pipe

i haven't heard or read anything a 3spd revo. as for performance :D im still breaking it, in and the wheelie bar gets lotsa use !!the chassis is spray paint, i would say get wheelie bar, and chassis brace, if your running 2.5 chassis, also get a roto start man saves fingers lol

Cold plugs?? Why is that?
McCoy plugs are not bad at all. I actually have ran them for years with out any problems. They are cheaper and last just as long as any other plugs.

173F is to cold. Your not heating up the metal enough to expand with out damaging it. The magic number is 200, but I usually don't like to be under 220.

My P5X liked to be around 260-270 when it was being broken in. Once it was broken in and loosened up (two gallons) the temp dropped and it picked up speed.
