so i had to do a little work to get my gear mesh a little better, i had to slide my tranny forward about 1/4 the width of a spur gear, i thought i could make it work by switching to a 1/8 scale clutch set-up, but it still wasn't perfect, so i had to oblong the holes in the chassis for tranny, ill try it out tommorow, i hope it works as good as it looks.

so its been a little while since my last update
i finally opened gallon number 3, i kept melting tranny gears, so had to buy a steel wide ratio gear, and i also had some problems with keeping it in forward  while driving so i had to install my FOC, and after melting through a complete set of rims, in bout three tanks, i had to buy the rpm axle carriers to get the larger bearings that can handle the heat :D
i also had to lower it almost as low as it could go i but i soon will raise it higher so i can get some air and bottom out
i think i have most of the bugs worked out, so i hope i can get a video soon of the beast ripping up the yard :huba:

so i was runnin it in the yard yesterday, and i could not, keep the temps down, i would richen then it would run like crap, lean it out a little and it would run to hot 260-270 ish, but then i noticed that the high speed needle, would turn really really ez, so i thinking bad o-ring, i have yet to look at it but i did pick up o-rings at the LHS when i when with my old man to buy parts for his heli
ill let you all know what i find out

make sure you lubricate the orings before you screw them into the housing...you can use a drop of fuel on each oring

260-270 isn't that hot. Now when you said running in the yard, was it grass?

Grass will raise the temps if you run in it

yes it was many ran on grass, but i also changed gear ratios and that also brought it up too, :D
so i had another issue today, when i went to start it with the roto start it would crank over nice but all of a sudden the motor stopped turning over, but the roto start still spinning, so i did some investigating and found the problem but before i tell anybody have a guess on what was causing it ??

dirty/bad one way bearing...\
well i thought i had it solved, i was thinking the shaft that goes from the one way to roto start kept working itself out of the bearing, and then not making it spin, so i just added another spacer on the backside to hold the shaft tighter in the OWB, it worked great for about half day then did the same thing so i took it apart tonight and i clean the OWB and it still did the same darn thing, then i looked at the shaft, and i noticed it was rough and chewed up, right about the area the OWB bites into it, is this normal ? or is it a bad shaft ?? or a bad OWB ?

Its kind of hard to see, but as long as its not heavily scratched, its probably ok...throw a new OWB in and see what happens

ya i got the little screw but there is a hugew gap were the bell can slide
pjabas

i used an extra bearing

revofreak
06-18-2007, 09:03 PM
i figured id try that but i gota get a bearing that size unless the old wheel bearings from the stock turnbucles are the same size i was trying to figure something else i was just wondering since were running the same motor in a revo i figured you would kn0w a way thanks i think ill do that ! hows your rig comin?
