Many racers pay special attention to their car’s engines, tires, and setup, thinking that these are the key factors in driving faster, but one of the most important items is often overlooked - the clutch. A lot of work goes into finding a good clutch setup, but once you've found one, it's not easy to repeat the setup later. This is especially true for on-road race cars, where racers often struggle measuring from the threads to the spring nut with their caliper. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to hold the caliper exactly straight every time which is why one often comes up with different readings each time you take a measurement. Obviously, this is not a good way to get a repeat clutch setup. Brooklyn Hobbies (www.brooklynhobbies.com) has a solution - read on...

The new Carlsen Centax Clutch Spring Tensioner Tool solves these problems. With this tool you will measure correctly every time . Just slide this digital tool over the crankshaft down to the spring nut and you get a perfect measurement. This will help you fine tune your clutch and be able to always set your clutch the same once you have found a good measurement. This will ensure when you rebuild or clean your clutch, you will be able to set it back to the same setting.
Richard and the Brooklyn Hobbies crew have tested this tool at 301 Raceway with great results . The new tool will pick up the slightest difference of a turn on the nut, and allow you to get a precise measurement, which is the key to repeating the clutch setup later..
This tool just the first of many tools in production by Carlsen. There is a complete digital suspension tuning package and much more to follow. The tools are designed by Richard Siriano for Carlsen Products, patent pending. These tools will be available 4/09/07 online at Brooklyn Hobbies (www.brooklynhobbies.com) OR CWhit's Hobbies at 301 RACEWAY in Maryland, or at many of your finer race hobby sites and stores. Street price will be $125. http://www.sgrid.com/2007/april/brooklyn-2-t.jpg (http://rc-racing.com/SGM/www.sgrid.com/2007/april/brooklyn-2.jpg)
