3.3 traxxas engine

Got a new 3.3 from tower hobbies, after putting a new flywheel clutch and clutch bell I noticed a small amount of play in the crankshaft. Is this normal or should I send it back. I have not installed it yet or run any gas through it. Please help....x

Its normal, because when the motor gets to temp everything will tighten up because of the way the metals expand at temp. If everything was tight, it would bind up when it gets warm. This is very important, when you put on the flywheel, pull the crank shaft out as you tighten up the flywheel nut. If you dont, the rod could rub on the backplate, and possibly hang up on it....not good.
