I'm a bit confused by the number of different Buggies by Ofna. Can anyone explain what the differences are in these Buggies?

Ofna Jammin X1 Cr Pro
Ofna Ultra Lx Pro
Ofna Hyper 8

Thanks

Jammin = good
Hyper 8 = good
lx pro = no good (for racing)

What would you use it for?

Ofna is the importer of Hoa Bao and Hong Nor....HB=most ofna stuff. HN=Jammin.

In theory I'm going to use it for racing . Although, I should say that it will be casual racing if there is such a thing.

So that clears up most of my confusion. I wondered why one company would put out so many different buggies of the same class.

Since I'm probably going to be buying a used buggy to start out with, is there anything I should look out for? For instance, some buggies will say that they have run less than 1 gallon of fuel through the engine, others will say 3 gallons. What does this mean in terms of wear and tear on an engine and how many gallons would you say is a lot? It seems to me that buying a used buggy is pretty much a crap shoot as far as engine condition. It's all going to depend on the driver and how well he cared for it.

Thanks again for the help.

the lx is junk, the hyper 8 isn't bad, but in order to make it work good, you have to put jammin shocks on it, so in my opinion, straight out of the box, the jammin x1-cr is the best, it's a really nice car:thumbs:

If you are going to get a used buggy, try to find one you can hold it in your hands and see it in person. There is alot more that can be worn out, other than the engine. You can hide alot of crap with pictures and sometimes people arent as honest as you wish they would be...so in that respect yes it is a crap shoot.

Things to check: Check the axle pins/outdrive slots for wear, grab a front wheel and jiggle it back and forth to check for play in the steering rack/axle bearings, jiggle the arms to check for slop at the hingepins/blocks...if its worn, youll spend more money to fix it up and ready for a season of racing than if you had bought new in the begining. Thats not even including the servo's, motor etc, that could be worn or worn out...unless you know the guy youre buying from, be leary anytime you buy a used rig.

Its not uncommon to get 7+ gallons out of a motor if its properly maintained, but its really easy to kill one in 3 gallons if youre not carefull...for instance, my first buggy had a used OS RG that got a pinch before I got it at the 6+ gallon mark, then I put another 3+ gallons worth of 270*+ runs on it. Then I sold it to a friend who put 2 gallons on it....it needs Orings on the high speed needle, but IT STILL RUNS!!! 11+ gallons and it still runs...

I second Reds advice, the Jamosho is the best car in ofnas stable. Its a dominant car...

i run a hyper 8 and it is just as fast and stable as any jammin.:winner: and sometimes faster .:huba: it is not nessary to upgrade the shocks but makes set uo a lot easier and of course will improve the performance.i personal wont buy anything used and if i do it is from friends as scooby said ther are more un honest people then there are honest.

And sometimes I wonder if my friends are telling me everything! When a guy wants to sell something, if he needs the money bad enough, he will tell you what you want to hear...

the jammin out of the three would be my choice it just has better out of the box parts from my experience. but the eight run good also guy won points race here at the local track here with the 8 so be your on judge but defenitly check it out for loose a arms and bad bearings.

but o like kyosho buggies my self the down fall is getting parts around here
