They all make good servos and they all make crappy ones too. You just need to pick the right ones for what ever manufacturer you prefer.
I use Airtronics 359Z & 360Z for my buggy, Hitec 5945 & 925 for my GT and I have a JR 590 in my T4 with a spare Futaba that is sweet too. I think the Futaba might find it's way on to the T4. The JR590 is ok compared to the Futaba.
The thing to stay away form is, 3 pole motors in servos. Those are cheap motors and that's why they don't cost as much. I've burnt up Two Hitec 645's and Three Hitec 625's in a span of 14 months. All of those have 3 pole motors! Go with coreless and you'll be good to go. Just think of the money I paid for those 5 servos, I could have bought two higher end one that would still be working right now!
My Hitec 5945 is a Digital coreless motor servo and will be 4 years old this summer. It's been on 4 different RC's and has been raced and bashed hard. It's still working great in my GT now.
YOU GET WHAT YOUU PAY FOR!! consider your self Warned... :-P

not true. my hitec 645 has lasted me a long time now, i had one servo that burned out just before an A final :nono2: :smiley_aayp: but hitec replaced that no questions asked
as long as you set up your end points properly they shouldnt burn out. thats normally the problem, 3 pole motors are used in lots of things these days without troubles...
but i do agree that if you can afford it go for a coreless motor :D

Yes it is true. So you say I’m a liar?
Yes, if it's still under warranty Hitec will replace them. My 645’s have been replaced twice and on the second time I gave it away.

What car was it in? Steering or Throttle?

First it was an Associated T4 (steering) and then I had the other one go in my buggy as a throttle servo.
And yes, all end points were setup correctly. I have my Radio setup and I'm very tedious about how every thing is setup for me.

I have never had any trouble with my Hitec stuff...625-45's, 925-45's and now in my LSP, 5945 steering and 5925 throttle...so far so good.
I have blown 2 JR 8800's one S and one T...both in the throttle of my K2...but it was my fault. Forgot to shut off my rx and the failsafe locked them in full brake...smoked...it didnt take very long either, less than 5 minutes both times. No more failsafes for me, I also have stickers that say 'TURN IT OFF DUMBA$$' on my cars, just in case I forget:) I still run a 8800t in the steering, but I have a used Futaba9350 in the throttle now that I got off a buddy cheap...it works.
I decided to save a few bucks on the SP2 when I got servos...I have ACE DS1313 in the throttle and steering. Awesome servo for the money, 173oz/.13, $80 @ A-Main...FYI, these servos use Futaba horns.

I think the next servos I get after my JR's go will be Futaba.

I've heard nothing but good things about the ACE servos. I may try them in the Future.
