Thinking about purchasing a new .21 powerplant for my truggy. $250 is the budget and really don't want to go over that. I noticed on A-main hobbies they have a OS .21 VG mod motor for a decent price. Can it handle a truggy? Has any one run this engine? I'm also considering the RB concept engines, Drake engine, and a Nova Rossi. any suggestions would be awesome.

The OS will be good on a tight track.
But i would say a ninja. I love it and it loves rpm (43k) on large tracks.
cant go wrong with novarossi just need more like $280 to get in one.

 LOOK INTO A WERKS B7 COST RIGHT AROUND $250 AND JUST FINISED 2ND IN THE CRCRC RACE IN BOTH TRUGGY AND BUGGY CLASSES. I HAVE THE COLLARI VERSION AND JUST BOUGHT THE WERKS VERSION VERY SMOOTH WITH LOTS OF POWER.AS FOR THE OS MOTOR ITS NOT A REAL STRONG MOTOR .NOW IF YOU CAN FIND AN OS V SPEC FOR A GOOD PRICE THAT WOULD ALSO BE A GREAT MOTOR.HOPE THIS HELPS.

I think the VG, even a moded one, would be a little soft for a truggy. $250 is a little low, for a truggy-able .21. Increase your budget by $50 and it gives you alot more options...

what about this NovaRossi http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_23_31/products_id/9529

Here the situation. I built a HellFireSS and was given a Sirio .30 engine for it. The engine has tons of low end grunt but very little top end. I'm looking to get rid of the .30 and put in a decent .21 that's got enough torque to carry me through the tight stuff but enough top end to keep me thinking there's more.
The Werks is on my list. What about RB engines?

the 3 port will not have the top end as a 5 or 7.

Rb Motors Are Good Motors The Only One You Will Be Able To Get Under $250 That Is Even Strong Enough For A Truggy Would Be The S5 Very Good Bottom End And Decent Top Bot Not Great Also Rbs Are Very Reliable.

I'm looking for an engine in about the same price range, do any of you know which one I should look at as far as fuel economy? I want to get 7 1/2 minutes out of a tank, I'm tired of pitting at 5 minutes

I've got a STS .21 team that I'm looking to try out in my muggy. If has enough grunt to push it around, it will be a good budget engine to look in to. At 180$ you can't go wrong. :D

According to the Kyosho team drivers, the new Sirio is OFF THE HOOK!!! Its supposed to have as much power, or more than anything else out there...but I dont think its going to fit into your budget.

After alot of reading, everyone who has one is saying the new Go Tech 5 port is supposed to be awesome in a truggy....supposed to be better than a P5

Sirio- My local Kyosho driver just got sponsored by Sirio and has the one for his truggy I think but his buggy engine is on the way. He is hoping it will get here before the Nitro Challenge but he isn't sure, I will let you guys know when I get to see it run.

GO- They seem awesome about 10 people are running them at my track and I know of only 1 person that has had a problem and he has been offered a full refund. The 5 port .21 has been in my friends truggy and his truggy would wheelie down the straight at The Nitro Pit. There is also a 7 port that is faassst but it isnt that great for tight tracks. The GO Tech U.S. distrubutor is one of my local race friends also(www.racefactorindustries.com (http://www.racefactorindustries.com)) and he just got the .25 & .28 engines in and are testing them, they are suppose to be the budget engines but they are still suppose to move pretty good, I will let you know about them too when I see them.

With all these new engines out, all of them either good or great, its becoming more and more difficult to decide what to get. Im getting a new motor for this season, and just cant make a decision!

It seemed to take it's sweet time getting through the first two tanks during break in. But that's as far as I've gotten. Weather is miserable right now.

I got two .21's and a STS tuned pipe for 330$. It was part of a group deal frome racernine.com. I also had the good fortune of having it slip through customs, so I'm well chuffed. :D

15 gallons, damn. I ended up getting a new Sirio engine for a great price and I'm going to end up running that. Does anyone who can re-pinch a sleeve for a Nova Rossi P5 engine. I got one that is starting to loose some compression and I would like to keep it going b/c the motor has awesome power.

What Sirio did you get?

Check your crank pin and the rod journal...crank pin min. tolerance is 4.93.

If you do it, you might want to put a new rod in it.

(See Details) (http://javascript<b></b>:SuperSaverPopUpWindow('http://www.amainhobbies.com/supersaver.html')) This is a replacement extra strong, light weight connecting rod for the Novarossi family of .21 engines, including the P5, P5X, 421B, 421BX and Plus 21-5. This is the newer connecting rod that comes in the P5X engine and is designed for higher performance compared to the older rod. This will work with any Novarossi brand engine including the Top and Rex lines. The connecting rod attaches between the crankshaft and the piston. If you are replacing the piston/sleeve in your engine, it is always a good idea to replace the connecting rod at the same time to avoid premature failure due to wear.

This new connecting rod replaced both the FMS7007 and FMS7006 connecting rods.

I just ordered the Sirio today start from Kyosho. Its actually an engine that they are not selling in the states and they only brought it in for their team drivers. The engine is a non STI evo basically. I should have it in my car for the Antioch race, better watch out!! LOL

Oh no, I told them. I do own a kyosho too, but I told him it was going in my eight. Originally I was going to put it into my HellFireSS but ever since I saw the new losi 8ight T in person, I think the hellfire is going BYE BYE and the eight T is moving in to my stable. So in the mean time I'm putting the new Sirio in my buggy and I'm sending two engines to RJmods for some work. My nova rosi P5 is getting a pinch and a mod, and my fantom is getting a mod. If I had some extra money I would have just bought two Sirio's and run one in each of the 8ight's.

Man i wish money grew on trees.

Youll be happy with the RJ Mod...I just got back from the track and I was getting over 11 minutes per tank, with crazy power!!! I wasnt driving WOT the whole time, but I wasnt taking it easy either....I really like this thing.

Money does grow on trees...If you grow the right kind of trees!!!! lol You should know all about that where you live....

sts..... Run a STS D21b.. and a D21T MKII..

the non ported( d21B) Runs like a P-5 and tunes similiar.. runs fat bottom top a little leaner..

I think it may have a bit more rpm.. but feels very smooth.. good bottom but not overpowering.

the D21T.. is a beast.. good botom smooth and revvvvvs.. definately the best power for the buck.. PS.. I run these in a Cen truggy and get about 8 mins of run time.. about 2gl on each...
