mixing carbs

i am new to the nitro cars and i recently purchased a car with a .18 vertex motor. the idle adjustment screw came damaged and i need a new carb. i was wondering if a carb off of a .15 traxxas will fit. it looks the same im just not sure if it is compatible. your hel would be greatly appreciated.

Well, im not 100% but i would say it would fit but the .15 intake would be smaller. The engine would run but not the same as if it have the .18 with larger intake. im just guessing. you need to talk to rjmod i bet he would know.

It might work, pull the carb off the motor and check the outer diameter of the carb neck. Compare it to the traxass carb neck outer diameter, if they are the same, you should be ok. But youre going to have to start from scratch when you tune it...
