Scoobie Snacks Giveaways!!!!!!!

When I first came up with the idea for this giveaway, I had no intentions of doing it more than once and it was to be more of a joke than anything else. I wanted it to be something that would make people on the site laugh, give us something to talk about and gain some new members in the process. After some thought and with some suggestions from the administration, I have now finalized what I think is a perfectly fair and unbiased contest/prize giveaway*:blbl:

I first had the idea when I noticed we had almost reached 100 active members.** So I asked Z3us if he thought it would be ok to give away some kind of gag gift to whoever tripped the century mark. He gave me the green light, so I got to thinking about the perfect things to shove in a box and send to the lucky recipiant...everything from old worn out tires, to broken suspension parts and dog treats. Then I started thinking, Ive got a bunch of used stuff in my garage that still has some life in it, but its taking up space and in need of some attention that its not getting from me. So what better thing to do than help support the habbit of a fellow addict!!!

So now on this day of Jan. 8, 2007 we at NitroAddicts have over 100 active members...but wait, there is more:eek: On the same day, we aquired more than 300 total members!!! Some may think its nothing special, but I really enjoy this place and am honored to be part of this website. I want to see it spread like a bad habit through the RC Community:shoot: When I saw what had been achived and that #300 had decided to post in the welcome thread, I thought to myself, I want to give him something too. Something to show thanks, but not just from me. Even though it comes from my garage, the prizes that anyone may recieve are from all of us at NitroAddicts. To say thanks for stoping in, thanks for supporting the site, thanks for helping out, thanks for being involved and thanks for whatever else you can think of.....thats it.

I also decided it might be fun to continue the giveaway for a while. Something light hearted and humorous. A simple contest with simple rules that anyone is capable of winning, but one that not everyone will win...sorry I dont have that much stuff!

What you can do to make yourself eligable to win; Any active member*** is automatically entered. All you have to do is get active on the site and contribute, be informative and helpfull, and use semi-comprehensive grammar...Really anything you do could win you something. It could be a cool picture that you post (hint hint), or beating one of my high scores in the arcade. Just depends on what kind of mood Im in...

Things that you can do to disqualify yourself from eligability; Being a prick, or blatant disregard for the rules****

Winners are chosen at random, by scoobie; Winners will be notified by me that they have won something (or things). They can either accept it and give me their address or the winner can forefit the prize to a fellow nitroaddict***** of their choice. If the second recipient should decide to decline his prize (or prizes), the prize will go back into the garage to be given away at a later date. If the prize is declined I will then post a picture of the prize so everyone can see what was behind door number 3...actually door number 1, cause you dont get a choice!! All shiping will be paid for, but I aint gonna ship it there on the fast truck!!

Prizes are chosen at random, by scoobie; Winners will not be told of what they will recieve. But remember, I have alot of stuff and if you choose to accept the prize you take the good with the bad...but I will do everything in my power to give you something you will be able to use. You may not need it now, but you may someday...at least thats what I told myself when I decided not to throw it away!!!

EDIT: prizes not claimed in 7 days will go back to the garage.

That is a great idea, scoobie you may have started something big, unique and fun. I would like to do the same find odd stuff others may like and just randomly find members to send it to. I hope others will think the same and join in. This is something to my knowlege that NO other R/C site does, and that is my goal here with NitroAddicts.com is to give members something no other site does.

Remember: It all started with the Scoobie Snack! I would ask that if any member wants to do take place in this to stay with the original scoobie rules.

My budget certainly wont be what it used to be, but it wont be so bad that I have to switch to OFNA:nono: I am driving my SP2 for another season, but I just got all the stuff to rebuild it to like new...with the new big bore shocks and the lightwieght universals:huba: Now I just need to find the time:shoot: I am also going to have enough spare parts left over to build a practice roller, but sadly with no big bores:cry: Either way, I will drive a sloppy worn out Kyosho before I ever run any OFNA:blbl:

SCOOBIE, what attributes do these amazing contributing members have that make you want to "snack em up"???

There are a few things that will help to make a member stand out. Do you start new threads, help with questions, or help entertain members? Activity is probably the most important factor...

For those that are active, it boils down to quality of response and information. Meaning your reply to a question should be original (as in you wrote it), and thorough. Use of links helps to make your post standout, but the use of pics helps more. More weight is added to a thread/response if its something you wrote, rather than something plucked from another site.

Also if you use pics or vid, is it your media, or stuff thats been plucked. If it is your property, did you upload it through the NitroAddicts gallery or vid page...thats just some of the criteria that I use to judge members.

Sadly, there arent that many who truely are in the running...The only member who earned his snack was pjabas and he earned it. He even went so far as to send me a box of traxass parts to throw into the box.

In the past I have given away items for reasons that wouldnt justify a gift, to try and build some hype and prove that its real...but that wont happen often. The next 'luck of the draw' giveaway would be around the 5000 member mark...

Ive got some cool stuff to giveaway. Ceramic Bearings, Engines, Pipes, Tuning Tools, Tires....Those are the nicer prizes, but I have lots of smaller things that are too numerous to list. So come on guys...get busy!

IMO he is a standout member, not only because of his grasp of the english language =), but because he is funny (at least I think so lol) and most importantly hes gone out of his way to do things for other members. Like doing research at work on products that members have been interested in, and finding out how much things weigh...those are things that will not be forgotten
