WAAAAAAAAAAY back in the day I used to race electric 2wd buggies I have since gotten into anything nitro but, the only nitro buggy out is the Duratrax:cry: . I'm NOT buying a Duratrax so......... I threw together a RC10gt smacked some B4 wheels on it and BAM the RC10GB was born. Now I only need a buggy front shock tower and a body. I got a few of my bugs to build em too now we have another AWESOME class to run at our sweet little backyard track.

I believe they used to make one back in the day. The only 1/10 nitro off-road they have now is the tr-15 and it's 4wd.

I'm saying that I have seen a new 2wd nitro buggy in a hobby shop but thought it was a Kyosho. It was an RTR. :shoot::D

Maybe Kyosho just hasn't updated their site in a while:confused: Next time you're at the lhs and you think about it, check it out for me.

You should look into a GT2/B4 hybrid project...

One of the guys I run with is going to try it with his gt2. I was just putting a parts list together for T4 suspension on my buggy hybrid.

I tried making a 2wd 'truggy' out of a b3...it looked really cool, it was super wide and I thought it would be really stable. It wasnt...It was twitchy and was very unpredictable at high speed, so I put it all back. Now what youre doing, with a long chassis and narrow track, that might be a different story...

I hope it doesn't bite me in the ass. I know of a couple people who are running T4 arms on their gt's and love it, it's just a little more fragile than the gt setup. I'm thinking it might be a little twitchy with the pizza cutter front tires. Oh well that's what dual rate is for. I guess I'll find out Sunday.

Most GT sprint car conversions are basically just buggy suspension on a truck chassis and buggy wheels.....so you could probably set it up for off road.
One thing I realized, when I built mine is when you change the shock tower, you have to use the shocks from the car you got the tower from and the geometry isnt right unless you use the arms from the vehicle as well.
My creation at its best, was a b3 chassis, with t3 shocktower/shocks/arms front and rear w/b3 body and wheels...no wing.
I tried to use the buggy towers, cause it looked cooler, but I didnt have the right length shock bodies to make it work right. I tried every combo possible between t3/b3/t4 shocks and couldnt make it work.
The important thing to consider is the gearing. Buggys are geared different than trucks. It will change your gear ratio running the smaller tires, so you would need to run the spur from the buggy too...
Hope that helps.

Yeah I haven't had a chance to run it yet so I'm not sure what gearing I'm going to run in it. I think all I have on hand are a 54 and a 62 for spurs. As far as clutchbells 15,18, might have a 13. I might run my Picco P15 in it or maybe one of my cheap AE .15's.

B3/T3s use a 2.40 transmission and the T4 is different with a 2.50 but it isn't a GT tranny. Most sprint conversions use GT trannys and electrics use the B3/T3 transmissions. www.dirtoval.com can give you plenty of information on these vehicles.

Well, I tried it out on Sunday and it was interesting to say the least. Maybe I just need to find a good setup for it or need to rethink things. It jumped a litle wierd and didn't turn in as much as I thought. Gearing was OK with 15/62 I still think I might try 18/52 though. It looked REALLY strange on the track with it being so narrow and having such a long wheelbase. I think I might try an older gt RTR chassis which is about 1/4 shorter than the factory team version, and most definetly a T4/B4 suspension to add a little width. All in all I'd say it was a great learning experience and was a great time.
