We used to do that with our rims to make them less brittle.
If you are dying your parts, Rit (http://www.ritdye.com/b.asp) has a color chart of making custom colors.
www.dyes.com is another place. Don't know much about them but I had the link in my bookmarks.

Ok back to the real question on this thread, I am curious about boiling my front uppers and lowers on my mbx5t. Has anyone done this before and how good has it worked? Thanks for any info on boiling parts to make them last longer and be stronger!

Saw this somewhere else. Haven't tried it myself, but, bring water to boiling point and remove from heat then put in parts and let sit until cool. This speeds up the natural absorption of water into the plastic.
Personally I have had some pretty hard hits on my 5T and not had arms break. Hit the end of a wall (oval) at full throttle and took two people to get it free and no breakage.

Ill-Mitch : forget trying to modify your plastic parts to solve this problem. :nono:
The real solution is to stop crashing!

iam going to agree with grasshopper , it seems every race you tq then break in the main, i know i have told you if you slow down youd be faster !!! stop trying to take the triple when your not setup for it !! seems every race thats where you break !!! except for when chuck hit you head on !!!!

on the mugen i wouldnt boil anything if you boil the upper arms it might weaken the area the balls thread into the same with the lower front arm.

i prefer the WD-40 method personally over the boiling option!

Years ago, we used to do this trick to the original white 10T arms and carriers. Back then, there was an article in RCCA that said that when you boil a glass filled nylon part, the glass fibers try to straighten out a bit, and it also helps parts flex a little, instead of breaking.
Don't know if it was true or not, but after boiling, i never broke another rear arm or rear arm mount on the 10T.

I think boiling helps too. It helps on my 1/8 buggy wings form breaking.

whats the wd-40 method pantera?
i soak the parts in WD-40 for 5-7 days i have found it better than boiling personally.
i get a zip lock sandwhich bag and put the parts in then spray or pour the wd-40 in and seal and put on a shelf
